KATHRYN HARRISS

PRINCIPAL SOLICITOR

Qualifications

  • Completed an Associate Degree of Law in 1997;

  • Completed a Bachelor of Laws with Honours in 2000;

  • Completed a Graduate Certificate in Legal Practice in 2001;

  • Completed a Master of Laws in 2005;

  • Admitted as a Solicitor in New South Wales in 2001; and

  • Completed a Graduate Diploma of Applied Law (Wills & Estates) in 2018.

  • Admitted as a Solicitor of the High Court of Australia in 2025

  • Completed training in Collaborative Practice for Wills and Estates in 2025

About Kathryn

Kathryn has extensive experience working in Australia and the UK, in private practice and as in house counsel. Kathryn is passionate about assisting individuals and their families in everyday legal transactions and making sure the elderly are taken care of.

Having undertaken post-graduate studies in Wills & Estates and Elder Law, Kathryn is well known for her careful consideration and attention to detail in legal drafting and advice.

Kathryn is a committee member of the St George and Sutherland Regional Law Society and regularly attends their Succession Law and Property Law Sub Committee meetings. Kathryn is also trained in collaborative practice in Wills & Estates and a member of the Australian Association of Collaborative Professionals.

Kathryn also volunteers at the Family Co. providing free initial family law advice to those in need.

In her spare time Kathryn enjoys spending time with her husband, two children, two pet cocker spaniels and Siberian cat. She also enjoys travel, reading, cooking and dining out.

MELANIE JONES

PRINCIPAL SOLICITOR

  • Admitted as a Solicitor in New South Wales in 2000.

About Melanie

Melanie has an array of experience in private practice in Wills & Estate Planning, Conveyancing and Property Law and as an in-house lawyer in the banking and financial services industry.

Well respected by her colleagues and clients for her understanding of complex legal topics, Melanie enjoys keeping up to date with property law changes and regularly attends briefings in this area.

Melanie is a committee member of the Sutherland Shire Regional Law Society and often attends their Succession Law and Property Law Sub Committee meetings to keep updated in these areas.

When not working, Melanie loves spending time with her husband, two children and two dogs.

She is regularly a cycling widow, while she waits patiently at the sidelines with her children, cheering on her husband.

Melanie enjoys cooking, attending her local book club with her friends and rumour has it that she also likes to tap dance!

SETH HARLEN

SOLICITOR

Qualifications

  • Completed a Bachelor of Business;

  • Completed a Juris Doctor;

  • Completed a Graduate Diploma of Practical Legal Training;

  • Admission in the Supreme Court of NSW.

About Seth

Seth has experience in a broad range of debt recovery and insurance litigation matters as well as experience in Wills & Estates and commercial contract disputes. Seth also has experience in Employment Law, and Property Law. In his studies he focused on Intellectual Property, Environmental Planning Law, and Banking and Finance.

Seth is a member of the Sutherland Shire Regional Law Society.

Outside the office, Seth enjoys playing a lot of video games, spending time with his partner, and his dog Shiro. Seth also volunteers at the HARS Aviation Museum in Albion Park and has a keen interest in aviation (just not in the learning to fly part!).

NICOLE AGHABI

SOLICITOR

Qualifications

  • Completed a Bachelor of Science in 2003

  • Completed a Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice in 2013

  • Admitted as a Solicitor in New South Wales in 2013

  • Admitted as a Solicitor in the High Court of Australia in 2013

  • Completed a Master of Laws (Applied Law) majoring in Estate Planning and Wills and Estates in 2022

About Nicola

Nicole has vast experience covering property law, estate law and surrogacy law. Nicole now focuses on surrogacy law which is her passion.

Prior to law, Nicole completed her Bachelor of Science where she majored in both Molecular Biology as well as Anatomy and Histology. Prior to her legal career, Nicole worked in IVF taking on significant lead roles in the andrology lab.

Nicole’s passion for IVF remained as a lawyer so much that she returned to IVF as a member of the Human Research Ethics Committee in 2015 and was chairperson for almost 10 years.

Nicole is a member of the St George and Sutherland Regional Law Society and the Medico-Legal Society of NSW.

Nicole enjoys spending time with her two children (who were both conceived via IVF), watching Peppa Pig and Bluey.

Sarah Murray

LICENSED CONVEYANCER

Qualifications

  • Completed an Associate Degree in Law (Paralegal Studies) in 2024;

  • Completed a Certificate III in Legal Services in 2022;

  • Justice of the Peace; and

  • Member of the conveyancing profession under the Australian Institute of Conveyancers NSW Division since 2022

About Sarah

Sarah commenced work with Harriss Jones Lawyers in 2021 as a legal trainee.

Since starting with our firm, Sarah has proved to be an important part of our team.

She has not only completed her Traineeship with outstanding results, she has also gone on to become appointed as a Justice of the Peace and to complete her university studies to become a licensed conveyancer.

Sarah is one of two licensed conveyancers at our firm. She manages all conveyancing matters as well as co-ordinating our safe custody documents.

Outside of work, Sarah enjoys travelling, spending time with her friends and family and going to the gym.

Annette Suann

LICENSED CONVEYANCER

Qualifications

  • Completed an Advanced Diploma of Conveyancing in 2008;

  • Certified Practising Conveyancer since 2010;

  • Completed a course in Powers of Attorney Law in 2016; and

  • Membership to the conveyancing profession under the Australian Institute of Conveyancers NSW Division Ltd since 2007

About Annette

Annette has a wealth of experience as a conveyancer in the Sutherland Shire and Liverpool Council areas.

Joining Harriss Jones Lawyers in 2018, Annette ran her own successful conveyancing practice for over 9 years.

Highly regarded and well-known by colleagues in her profession, Annette has long-standing relationships with all her clients, who often recommend her services to others.

Annette has particular interest in unusual property transactions (for example, properties with limited or qualified title or party walls) and she has extensive experience in off-the-plan, strata, and residential conveyancing.

With a ‘by-the-book’ attitude to all conveyancing processes and procedures, Annette frequently attends seminars and webinars to update her conveyancing knowledge and is well versed in the electronic settlement network, PEXA. Annette is also passionate about Aged Care and ensuring that our elder clients have an easy transition into retirement living.

When not working (which is rare) Annette loves playing golf with her husband and spending quality time with her large family.
